Video Focus: Activity (5 areas)

Step One: Watch the video clip below:

Choose "slow" if you connect to the internet with a modem, choose "fast" if you connect with a cable modem, DSL or other fast connection (usually available at work, schools, public libraries, etc). Click on this instructions link for more help on viewing the video.

Step Two: Writing opportunities can be made available in many areas of the environment you provide for children. To encourage you to think about how you can create these opportunities, we've created a classroom diagram provided below. Click on a classroom area and answer the questions that appear. After you submit each answer, you will have an opportunity to read what colleagues from across the country have written.

Be sure you have the Quicktime Video Player installed on your computer

In order to view the Video Focus clips on HURonline, you will need to have a free piece of software called Quicktime, in order to view and interact with these clips. Follow this link (Get Quicktime) to the download page, scroll to the bottom of the page to download and run the free installer.
