I can use teaching strategies that support children’s motivation to write. I believe technology can be used in appropriate ways to teach young children. I can teach preschool children to write their names and other meaningful words. I can find sources to help me choose appropriate software.	Modeling is an effective technique for teaching writing, including: use of upper and lower case; left to right orientation; and simple punctuation. There are developmentally appropriate ways to use computers and technology to promote early literacy learning among all children including children with special needs and second language learners.	Can give an example of teaching writing in a way that builds on a child’s interest, knowledge and experience and motivates the child to continue to write. Can describe how to find ways in the daily routine to model correct writing. Can give examples of using technology to adapt literacy instruction for children from diverse backgrounds and different levels of ability. Can use developmentally appropriate criteria for choosing computer software.
