Florida Goals

|
- Transform teacher instructional practices in early
childhood settings to reflect current research-based
knowledge of early literacy.
- Demonstrate significant measurable, improved outcomes
in the development of age-appropriate literacy skills
for children, with particular focus on children from
low-income families.
- Offer participating teachers and staff the opportunity
to use the HeadsUp! Reading 44-hour
satellite early literacy course to meet formal professional
development needs, especially CDA and college credit.
- Promote collaboration through the 57 Florida School
Readiness Coalitions among all School Readiness Programs:
childcare, public, faith-based, private, Head Start,
Early Head Start, Even Start and other sectors of the
early childhood community through a state infrastructure
for early literacy.
